After a brief retirement in 2023, I returned to the competitive javelin runway in 2024 to make one more try for an Olympic Final. I fell just short of the Olympic standard of 64.00m at 63.22m on my very short season, and am completely at peace to return to retirement from sport. To take my final competitve javelin throw on the same runway where I tore my ACL the first time, made all four of my Olympic Teams, and ultimately, finally, won a World Silver medal was very special. I got everything I needed and much more out of 20 years of internationally-competitive javelin throwing, and have moved on to support the sport I love in new ways beyond athletic performance.
